Welcome to the Shakepay Benefits Program!
As a Shakepay customer, you may be eligible to receive various benefits, including cashback, interest, referral rewards, and more. This document outlines the terms and conditions for all such programs. All relevant sections of the Customer Account Agreement apply, including but not limited to warranty, limitations of liability, and definitions. Shakepay reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel any program or your participation in any such program, at its sole discretion and without prior notice.
Your Shakepay Status
Shakepay has a tiered benefits system based on your activity on the platform. These statuses affect the benefits you receive across various Shakepay programs.
Status Levels
Base: Default for all verified customers.
Bright: Achieved when you exchange $100 CAD or more, or receive $200 CAD or more in qualifying direct deposits in a calendar month.
Blue: Achieved when you exchange $1,000 CAD or more, or receive $2,000 CAD or more in qualifying direct deposits in a calendar month.
How Status Works
Status is based on activity in a calendar month.
Once you qualify, your new status takes effect immediately and lasts through the rest of the current month and the entire next calendar month.
You may level up any day during a month, but status only resets (downgrades) on the first day of a new calendar month.
You will never qualify for less than a full month, and there is no delay between qualifying and unlocking the status.
Status thresholds are provided solely for determining benefits and are not intended to encourage trading or exchange activity.

Shakepay Card Rewards Program
Card Rewards
With the Shakepay Card*, cardholders earn Bitcoin cashback rewards on all purchases made using the Card. The cashback rate is determined by your Shakepay status, as outlined above. Your status determines your rate in real-time. Cashback is earned on eligible purchases and credited in bitcoin to your account after the transaction settles.
3% Welcome Boost (for eligible cardholders only):
If you activated your Shakepay Card before November 26, 2025, you will continue to receive the 3% welcome boost you were already eligible for. You’ll earn 3% cashback until you reach the earlier of:
(1) CAD $3,000 in total purchases during your boost period, or
(2) 90 days from your card activation (or 90 days from April 9, 2025 if you previously received the 2% promotional rate).
After your welcome boost ends, your cashback rate will automatically revert to the standard rate based on your Shakepay status.
** Shakepay Visa prepaid card is issued by Peoples Trust Company pursuant to licence by Visa Int. Visa is a trademark of Visa International Service Association and used under licence by Peoples Trust Company.
ShakeSquads Bonus Rewards
Shakepay lets you team up with other customers in groups called “Squads” to earn extra rewards (“ShakeSquad Rewards”).
Joining or Creating a Squad
If you have a Shakepay Card, you can create a Squad or join an existing one. If you’re invited to join but don’t yet have a Card, you’ll need to apply for one before accepting. You can only belong to one Squad at a time, and you may leave whenever you like.
Squad Member Types
Each Squad has 2 types of members:
Contributors: Members who have made at least 1 Card purchase.
Rookies: Members who haven’t made a Card purchase yet.
As soon as a Rookie makes a purchase of any amount and that transaction settles, Shakepay automatically upgrades them to Contributor status.
ShakeSquad Reward Rules
Daily reward: Each Card purchase of $1 CAD or more by any Squad Member triggers a ShakeSquad Reward for all Contributors (Rookies do not receive rewards) once the transaction settles.
Fixed amount: The reward amount is fixed by Shakepay, denominated in bitcoin, and awarded once per day.
Changes: Shakepay may change the fixed reward amount, adjust the maximum Squad size, pause or discontinue ShakeSquad Rewards, or stop the creation of new Squads at any time.
Integrity & safety: Shakepay may close a Squad or remove members if it detects suspicious or fraudulent activity, violations of our terms, or behaviour that disrupts the community spirit or enjoyment of ShakeSquad Rewards.
Shake It Forward
Shake It Forward (“SIF”) is our unique pay-it-forward program: peer-to-peer rewards that you can automatically receive, and intentionally give. You must opt in to contribute, but participation is completely optional and choosing not to participate has no downside.
How SIF Works
When you opt in, you select an amount (minimum $1 CAD) from your CAD balance that you’d like to “pay forward.” Shakepay, acting as your agent, sets that amount aside and matches it to another randomly selected shaker’s Card purchase of a similar amount. When that person completes their purchase, your contribution covers it, and they receive a note letting them know.
What You Should Know
By choosing to use SIF, you agree that:
Your shaketag will be shared with the recipient whose purchase you covered.
You can’t choose which person or purchase your contribution goes to.
Recipient identities stay private unless they choose to contact you independently.
All contributions are voluntary, final, non-refundable, non-reversible once confirmed and do not provide any financial return.
The goal of this initiative is to encourage kindness in our community of shakers. Any hateful or inappropriate messages sent through the “thank you” feature may result in sanctions at Shakepay’s sole discretion.
Shakepay acts solely as your agent when you choose to pay it forward, and its liability to you is limited to $50. We may suspend or discontinue SIF at any time, with or without notice.
ShakingSats Rewards
Yes, you really can earn bitcoin by shaking your phone — no, it’s not a dream. It’s ShakingSats. Shakepay offers customers the opportunity to earn bitcoin rewards (“ShakingSats Rewards”) by manually shaking their mobile device once per calendar day.
Eligibility
To be eligible for ShakingSats Rewards:
You must have referred another Shakepay customer (a Referee), or been referred by an existing Shakepay customer.
Both you and the Referee must have completed the required identity verification and account setup steps set by Shakepay, which include providing certain identification information and completing your risk profile.
How It Works
To claim a ShakingSats Reward, you must physically shake your mobile device until a confirmation screen appears in the app. This confirms the successful claim of the reward for that calendar day.
Only 1 ShakingSats Reward may be earned per calendar day. The reward amount will be deposited in bitcoin (satoshis) directly into the bitcoin balance of your Shakepay account.
If you do not shake your device and claim the reward before midnight Eastern Time (EST), your shaking streak will reset to zero. A streak refers to consecutive days you have claimed the ShakingSats Reward.
Reward Calculation
The amount of Satoshis you receive depends on 2 factors:
Your current Shakepay status (Base, Bright or Blue)
Your current streak (number of consecutive days you have shaken your phone).
A customer with Base status will earn a fixed amount of 10 Satoshis per day, but can still maintain a shaking streak, which will be displayed in the in-app screen confirming you have successfully earned the rewards. Upon a status change, the reward amount will be recalculated based on your current streak and the new status level (more details here).
ShakingSats Rewards are not intended to promote or encourage trading, and status levels that modify reward amounts should not influence your decision to trade in your account.
Shakepay Platform Referral Program
When you join Shakepay, you receive a unique referral code and/or link (the “Referral Code”) that you can share with friends. When someone signs up using your Referral Code (a “Referee”), Shakepay tracks that referral so you can earn rewards through our Referral Program.
Referrers are not registered to provide investment advice. When sharing your Referral Code, you must not encourage anyone to buy, sell, or hold digital assets.
Sharing Your Referral Code
You’re free to share your Referral Code however you prefer; using your phone’s share options, on your website, through email or messaging apps, or even by including it in your own graphics or advertisements (“Ads”).
Shakepay may, at its sole discretion, ask you to stop using any Ad at any time, whether or not it violates these terms. You’re responsible for ensuring your Ads comply with all applicable laws and do not infringe on any third-party rights. Shakepay is not responsible for how your Referral Code is used in your Ads.
You may use the Shakepay name and logo only for sharing your Referral Code or creating Ads, and only in accordance with these terms and any additional guidelines we provide.
When using the Referral Code or the Shakepay name and logo, you must:
Be truthful and clear. Do not make statements that could be misleading or imply guaranteed profits, investment returns or advice.
Disclose your connection. If you may receive a reward, clearly state it (e.g., “I may receive a reward if you sign up”).
Respect brand and legal requirements. Do not impersonate Shakepay, use paid ads with our name without approval or target jurisdictions where Shakepay is not available.
Comply with anti-spam and privacy laws. No unsolicited messages, spam or collection of personal data.
Shakepay may withhold or revoke rewards for misuse, misleading content, or violation of these terms.
Shakepay Platform Referral Rewards
A one-time reward (the “Referral Reward”) shall be credited into both your and the Referee’s account within 5 business days following the Referee’s successful completion of all of the following:
(i) opening and verifying a Shakepay account; and
(ii) purchase by the Referee of digital currency worth $100 CAD or more, in one or multiple transactions1.
The Referral Reward will vary depending on the Referee sign up date, as outlined below:

You may earn many Referral Rewards, one for every Referee that purchases in digital currency the equivalent of $100 CAD or more. In order for you and the Referee to have access to the Referral Reward, the Referee must indicate your Referral Code during their account creation process, or must contact Shakepay support team up to a maximum of 30 days after the creation of their account.

Promotional Shakepay Referral Rewards and Campaigns
From time to time, Shakepay may establish temporary or one-off promotional campaigns (each, a “Promotional Program”) that may include referral rewards, bonuses or other offers. Participation in any Promotional Program will be subject to the terms and conditions communicated by Shakepay in connection with that specific campaign, which may be shared through email, in-app notifications, Shakepay’s website, FAQs or official Shakepay social media channels (collectively, “Promotional Materials”).
Where a Promotional Program involves referrals, both the referring and referred clients may be eligible to receive a reward once all eligibility and funding requirements have been met and verified. Referrers are not registered to provide investment advice and no advice about trading or digital assets is being offered. Shakepay Inc. remains solely responsible for client onboarding, supervision and compliance with applicable CIRO requirements.
Shakepay will determine the eligibility criteria, duration, reward value and any additional conditions applicable to each Promotional Program, as outlined in the Promotional Materials. Rewards earned under a Promotional Program (each, a “Promotional Reward”) will be credited to your Shakepay account within a certain time period after you meet the specified conditions, unless otherwise stated in the Promotional Materials.
All Promotional Programs are offered at Shakepay’s sole discretion and may be modified, suspended, or terminated at any time, without notice. Promotional Rewards are not guaranteed, are non-transferable and may only apply to new or existing users who meet the criteria set out in the applicable Promotional Materials.
Shakepay may delay, withhold, or reverse rewards in cases of ineligibility, error, abuse, or suspected fraud and reserves full discretion to interpret and administer Promotional Programs.
